ZOOM WHITENING

What is Zoom Whitening?

Zoom is the #1 patient requested professional whitening brand that is used both locally and globally to lighten discoloured teeth. The Zoom Whitening procedure uses the Zoom Advanced Power Chairside Lamp to activate 25% hydrogen peroxide whitening. As the hydrogen peroxide is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin to bleach the stained substances, leaving the structure of the tooth unchanged. Zoom White Speed combines their unique blue LED technology and whitening formula to customize and accelerate your whitening experience for immediate results in just 1.5 hours! Only 1 appointment is needed and up to 8 shades lighter can be achieved during this time.

Not only is Zoom fast acting but it is also safe for your teeth and gums! This is the main reason why as a dental professional, I recommend Zoom over any other whitening product. Clinical studies have shown that whitening your teeth with hydrogen peroxide under the supervision of a dental professional is safe for your teeth and gums. DayWhite tooth whitening gel is formulated with fluoride and amorphous calcium phosphate to help deliver superior enamel protection through out the whitening process. The procedure also consists of complete isolating of all gums, cheeks, tongue as well as areas of recession and abrasion to significantly lower the risk of developing tooth sensitivity. Relief ACP gel is also applied before and after the procedure to help with sensitivity that can occur for patients who are susceptible or already have sensitive teeth.

Why is Zoom More Effective Than Other Whitening Products?

Safety. Price. Immediate Results. Zoom whitening can ONLY be sold and applied by a Dentists or Dental Hygienist. This is due to the isolation technique that is used to ensure proper safety and effectiveness of the bleaching material. When compared to a standard take home white strip, or the other whitening methods seen here, Zoom can access roughly 3x more hydrogen peroxide through the ChairSide LED Lamp, ensuring that you see optimal results! Also, Zoom only requires 1.5 hours to achieve professional results versus subscriptions of toothpaste or months of whitening strips and still not seeing the results you were 'guaranteed'.

The cost of Zoom at Whiter Smiles is $265.00 which is very competitive compared to other professionals in the area. (Zoom whitening does not require routine visits every 3, 6 or 9 months like many other in chair whitening options)

Complete isolation of gums and surrounding tissues to reduce sensitivity, irritation and burning. This also allows areas of recession, abrasion and erosion to be isolated instead of whitened as this can cause sensitivity if not completed.

Due to their lack of isolation, white strips expose your gums along with areas of recession and abrasion to concentrated hydrogen peroxide which is what causes gum inflammation and burning sensation. Lack of isolation also makes it easier to swallow the hydrogen peroxide versus having it be removed from your mouth for you as is done during your Zoom appointment.

Before Making Your Zoom Appointment

Zoom whitening is not intended to replace any dental visit but rather a cosmetic procedure to help you feel confident about your smile. It is recommended that you still complete a standard exam at your dental office before making your Zoom appointment, though it is not necessarily required. A Dentist will ensure that your mouth is in good health and this can increase the effectiveness of your Zoom treatment while decreasing the likelihood of possible sensitivity from this procedure. Once this step is complete, you can come in and have your teeth professionally cleaned and polished prior to your teeth whitening procedure. This will rid your teeth of any plaque or stain to ensure you see optimal results.

Reasons to Not Do Zoom Whitening…

  • If you have active cavities in your mouth.
  • If you have active moderate-severe periodontal disease.
  • If you are pregnant.
  • If your current medical health is unstable.
  • It is also important to remember that Zoom Whitening will not lighten artificial teeth, caps, crowns, veneers or porcelain, composite or other restorative materials. These materials, however, can be replaced if recommended by a Dentist to match your new, whiter smile.
